The amount of times my mrs doesn't like the colour of a light fitting is scary....
Apart from the significant danger in doing that, if fuses have been removed and replaced live with any kind of regularity, the contacts will now be pitted and burnt, making the board a total loss.
Waste of money.
Get a spark to fit a new consumer unit with MCB's and RCD's, or even RCBO's.
