Old films of British life...

Now wouldn't have a clue who the neighbours are. Lot of them are tenants and they come and go without any interest in those around them. Very insular. Some are foreigners with poor English. But according to the know fck all liberals on here - that's just nostalgia and things weren't better.

Unlike here, not many people are tenants around here, almost all are owner occupied.

Some things are better, some things are much, much worse. We know those who live in the five local to us houses, and everyone else, even complete strangers, are on nodding terms. The place is several times bigger, than when I first moved here, and so generally much busier, but we still feel safe anywhere locally.

Where/when I was raised, we didn't have much, all very basic, and no garden, not much in the way of facilities. I was constantly cold in winter, often hungry, short on space, short on facilities, always tight for money. Even tools, had to be saved up for. Work took me away to better things, a better life, so I made the best of it, and determined myself, one way or another, to better my home life. I should say I got there, and some. A nice, comfortable warm home, nice big garden, all the facilities anyone might wish for, and no money concerns at all.

What's not to like?

And did you have the chance to buy a half-price council house?

Envy is an emotion which occurs when a person lacks another's quality, skill, achievement, or possession and either desires it or wishes that the other lacked it.<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Envy#cite_note-FOOTNOTEParrottSmith1993-1"><span>[</span>1<span>]</span></a> Envy can also refer to the wish for another person to lack something one already possesses so as to remove the equality of possession between both parties.

Aristotle defined envy as pain at the sight of another's good fortune, stirred by "those who have what we ought to have".<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Envy#cite_note-FOOTNOTE”Rhetoric-_Aristotle”Book_II,_Part_10-2"><span>[</span>2<span>]</span></a> Bertrand Russell said that envy was one of the most potent causes of unhappiness.<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Envy#cite_note-FOOTNOTERussell1930-3"><span>[</span>3<span>]</span></a> Recent research considered the conditions under which it occurs, how people deal with it, and whether it can inspire people to emulate those they envy.<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Envy#cite_note-FOOTNOTEDuffyLeeAdair2021-4"><span>[</span>4<span>]</span></a><a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Envy#cite_note-FOOTNOTEvan_de_VenZeelenbergPieters2009-5"><span>[</span>5<span>]</span></a>

John, you are blocked, for your nonsensical posts, so your replies will not usually be seen. As with all the posters I block, I let them out occasionally, to see if their posting style might have improved - I am usually disappointed.

Poor Harry thinks the only reason anyone disapproves of owners being forced to sell their property below its value, must be envy.

He even thinks he acquired "A nice, comfortable warm home, nice big garden, all the facilities anyone might wish for, and no money concerns at all" entirely through his own efforts.

Disregarding the generous gift donated to him by government policy, at the expense of future generations.

The support comes from constantly being highly critical and often insulting those who highlight and condemn the imported stone age culture of that religous cult.

If you're not against it, you're most likely for it.
Im not supporting immigration as it is.

But too many appear to think that wanting better systems is support.

TO be clear. I want. And have always wanted.

Better. Faster processing and returns

But I DONT WANT empty rhetoric

I had to pay full price for all of my houses.

Didn't even have, or qualify for council housing. It was all self earned and paid for.

As probably most in here have.

But the lectures about the lazy new lot not buying houses riles me. Take the benefits you had and say thanks, but spare a thought for those that don't even get that help.
