I've had an old gas fire removed and have covered the opening which is now behind the sofa. Just about to prep for decorating and was thinking of getting it all skimmed.

Do I need to install a vent?

Thanks.

If it was flued direct through the wall to the outside you can just brick up the opening.

But if it was flued up thru the chimney then you will need to install a air vent.
