Old LOUD Appartment Buzzer

Hey guys, just moved into a building from the 1960’s and all the appartment have these extremely loud and annoying old school buzzer.

Does anyone know how to reduce the buzz sound - full solution or hack - I’m willing to try anything

Best to disconnect it properly to disable.

Cables look old cloth and wax style, what is it for exactly and where is it wired to and make and model?
