old twin and earth

came across some twin and earth today and just wondered if anybody could put a date to it...... it was 2.5 but the earth core was 7 stranded and not solid.

is this still available or is there a date when it stopped been made?

its grey pvc looking just as normal

Silver colour wires or copper coloured?

Sounds like 7/0.029, where the 7 indicates the number of strands & the 0.029 is the CSA in in².

It does sound like PVC. Does it have BS 2004 stamped on it?

If so, given all these facts, it probably dates back as far as the 14th Edition (1966).
