Old water tank support removal

SplanK

Hi All,
Recently moved into a property where a combi boiler was installed and the old gravity fed system removed.

They left behind the old cold water tank in the loft which I have now removed leaving the supporting structure behind.

I would like to remove this so I can gain access to the other side of the loft, mostly for light storage but for access for maintenance and running some wires. I note that these some of these beams are held in place by 1 nail to the rafters.

Am I correct in thinking that removing the horizontal beams in the attached picture is fine as they do not form part of the roof supporting structure?

Thanks

That's correct - don't split the structural trusses getting the nails out - cut through the nails if they won't move.
