Hi all I have recently moved into a new home .Last night we had a power cut and the alarm which we didn’t even realise was still connected went off and I couldn’t get it to stop until the power came back on.Could someone please advise me if there is a way I can permanently disconnect the alarm so it can never go off again .not sure if there is a backup battery that needs disconnecting as well as the mains power .The alarm is an omega 5 it’s has a keypad and a key .many thanks in advance

it'll be the battery in the bell box. If you take out the fuse that supplies the alarm, the battery will run down. Unless you reconnect power it will never get recharged so it will not sound again.

The alarm is probably (should be) supplied via an FCU. It may not have a switch but the fuse can be removed.

Warn your neighbours and do it in daytime.

For a better job, open the bell box case and remove or disconnect whatever battery or siren you find. Give the bellbox cover a clean and polish and put it back. It will continue to be a visual deterrent if it looks like it's working.

Thanks for the reply I will get the ladder out when I get a chance and try to disconnect the battery in the bell box .
