the fire is for asthetics only, a log burner type, perfect height is that your eyes should be central to the screen, we have really high chairs so should be perfect. We use steps to get onto our settees.

Save gas? If someone is alone in the house, with a moderate temperature, sitting in the living room then turning on the electric fire only could be a better option.

Alone in the house dont want to put the heating on --- put a jumper on.
TRVs on all rads and in rooms that dont get much use turn them down.

My TV is 24 inch from the floor my eye position from the sofa is 37 inch from the floor top of TV is 55 inch form the floor. So my eye position is about 1/3rd up from the bottom of the screen.
Mine is on the wall but look at the height of TV cabinets - they are that height for a reason.

Sometimes I prefer some sort of heat. My hands get cold quickly.

Still debatable whether solely turning on the electric fire would be a better option, considering the other rooms don’t suffer from damp or mould.

What if it’s the worst case scenario where the bypass radiator is first, coupled with the desired room rad on the last run?
