Myself and the Gf bought a new house in June 2007, it has a crappy Sonya Duval Thermaclassic F30 E, installed during the build. I know that as from 2005 you are only meant to install high efficiency boilers (I know about the points system etc).

Now my question is- should this boiler of been installed or should a HE boiler of been installed?

Please consider that the 1st contact the building company had with the planning department regarding this build was in 2003.

Cheers

Al

If contact and plans passed in 2003 then they could fit non condensor after 2005. Also if a new house meets certain u values etc it does not need to have a condensor fitted. but it is cheaper to fit condensor than meet the target

Probably wrong but I thought the cut off was 1 year so april 06

Cheers, got that answer from the builders but wanted to check, they have a bad habit of bullsh1tting homeowners to weedle their way out of repairs etc
