Happy Christmas, folks!

Here's a recent fault-finding conquest...

This job had a complaint of intermittent upstairs lights.

Not surprising, considering there were 4 different loose connections on the circuit.

There were 3 loose neutrals in 3 separate locations & then this open -circuit fault. Bear in mind these conductors were exactly as I found them, except they were wrapped loosely in tape to keep them together. There was no attempt to insulate the loop from the cpc's or connect the loop conductors together. There was a half-hearted attempt to twist the cpc's together at least!

But it was more great luck than anything else that stopped a dead LE short occurring.

I'm sure these same people wouldn't think:

"Oh yes, I'm sure I can overhaul that engine"

or

"Oh yes, I'm sure I can fly a plane"

or

"Oh yes, I'm sure I can play the piano".

So WTF do they think they can do electrical work when they don't have a ******* clue how what they are fiddling with works?
