:?: have finished quite large insurance job replacing solid oak flooring plus sanding off and re-finishing surface. Job required finishing with a mid oak stain and two coats of wax-oil. After a few weeks the surface dulled and looked bloomed. What was the cause??? did see client washing with mop and bucket of water. wasa this the cause!!!

Was the stain from the same brand as HWO?

Did you supply your client with a maintenance leaflet detailing how to treat the floor?

The stain was a fast stain supplied by Havwoods - Preston and manufactured by Morrell's
Havew used it in the pat on several oak floors without any problems.
And yes did supply cleaning details plus maintenance sheet and problems from Flooring magazine.

Then I think the answer is obvious: your client did not read or not follow the maintenance instruction supplied.

very strange one that as OHWO is a breathable product and is usually fine with a little moisture,I mop my dining room floor which is finished with OHWO and have never had a problem maybe it is something in the cleaning product they have used.Is the bloom uniform over the whole floor or just in patches.
