Our extractor fan blew

And we suspect that water was in the fan. It was wall mounted in a bathroom and we had previously seen condensation in the circuit board area of the fan.

Do you very knowledgable and helpful know how this might have occurred?The electrician who fitted it is semi-retired and doesn't seem as interested in doing a good job as he used to be.

What IP rating did it have and where in the bathroom was it located?
