We have a kitchen family room that was done with large (18x18) ceramic tile in the kitchen and carpet in the family room. It is laid on the diagonal and is beautiful. We would like to remove the carpet and lay more tile. We do not have dye lot information and the house is now 10 years old. There is no divider. Do we have to remove all the tile and start fresh or is there a way to blend the few current tiles with new dye lot to extend the tile. Our entry, laundry, long hall ways and kitchen are done in this tile.
We are stumped.

Are you sure they still MAKE the tile as 10 years is a long production life if they do.
Secondly, I would think that it would be best to rip it all up and get the new one, OR go for something completely different.

It will look 'wrong' trying to blend something that is close but not right, whethers if it is a deliberate difference it will look....well, deliberate.
