The poles have moved, there was a time when UK was on the equator, and the ice caps have grown and shrunk, the continents have moved, and we have had events which have wiped out whole groups of life, we are told some of the species that flew could not fly now because our atmosphere is not dense enough any longer, but much is guess work, we were not recording distance from the sun or our trip around the sun 800,000 years ago, we can see it has changed, but it is still guess work. Yes we should air on the side of caution and keep our emissions down, but the so called foot print caused to make the products to keep the foot print down often exceeds what it saves.
It seems to be a case not in my back yard, and if China produces CO² so we in UK can use the produces they make to reduce our CO² output some how we seem to think that is OK, and we are rushing in to using new products, without giving enough time to show any problems, we have always done this to an extent, look at asbestosis, it was the wonder material, today lithium, anything in moderation nothing in excess was the motto of a school I think, and that is the problem, we are at the moment flooding the world with electric cars, and seeing already problems dealing with the waste.
To take our green drive to the point where countries can't keep their population warm and give them what they need to survive must be seen as going OTT.
