Hi

I was just wondering if anyone could tell me the approximate cost to build a garden wall please?

I need a wall building that would be approx 6 feet tall and about 30 feet long. It wouldn't have to be anything fancy as I plan to hide it with plants. Also, about how long do you think it would take and oh, I've just thought, do you need planning permission to build a garden wall?

Thanks so much :D

Thats about 2000 bricks assuming 215mm thick, plus foundations and disposal etc

Except for inner London, you are look at about £1.5k for materials and at least the same for labour. A weeks work.

A wall this high next to a public highway will require planning approval

In practice ground conditions, access to each side of the wall, trestles to reach the top etc will mean that the above figures are probably meaningless

digger hire.

spoil disposal.

concrete.

footing bricks or blocks /facing bricks.

sand/cement.

tile crease and engineers.

pillars.

figures should start at (minimum) £4000. and that's for a best case scenario.

I was thinking of picking a couple of polish guys up from the corner of the road and working for cash
