Outside Lighting Advice (Existing IP66 Junction Box)

Evening,

I have an new extension with a double socket in waterproof box and two double IP66 rated junction boxes installed on the external wall.

They are all on a separate module on the main CU which is dual RCD protected.

The two junction boxes outside have T&E terminating in them and I wanted to know if it’s as simple as connecting on with a terminal strip, running SWA to a new junction box (using cable glands) and then connecting off the new junction box (above ground) with some suitable flex cable to a few security lights?

I’ve read a few other posts but just wanted to clarify!

What are they for?

Did you specify them?

We cannot see the route from here.

Do you need yet another junction box?

Do you need to use armoured cable?

Have you ever worked with armoured cable?

Where will the flex to the lights run?

Thanks for the reply.

The junction boxes were put there to supply outside lighting according to the previous owner. I have the certificates from the electrician who did the electrics.

The armoured cable will run from the existing box along the house briefly before going underground then under decking before popping above ground, hopefully terminating into a double switch box on the pergola.

From there, the flex cable from that box will run along the wooden structure above ground to some security lights.

I’ve used SWA and stripped and connected the glands before.
