Hallo everyone. Thanks in advance for any help you can give

Firstly I know this is Part P relevant work. Yes I am going to get it inspected

My old built in single oven has broken and I am replacing it with a new Neff single oven. The old one plugged into a 13 amp plug. The new one needs to be permanently wired because it is rated at 3.8 kw.

The queries I have are as follows:

1) There is some disconnected 6mm cable run from my consumer unit that terminates about 2 metres from the oven . This was a supply to a cooker that used to be there. Can I reconnect this, if so what size cable and junction box should I Use. I know I will need a suitable MCB at the consumer unit

2) Does it need a cooker control unit and termination box given that it is a built in oven not a removable cooker.

3) Should I use heat resistant cable or will ordinary PVC do for the connection to the oven

3) If I have to rewire to the consumer unit do I need to use 6mm or can I use ordinary ring main cable. It's rated at 3.8kw and the distance is about 12 metres max

4) I am thinking of adding an electric hob (7kw). Does this need it's own run to the consumer unit or can I run it from the 6mm. I assume not

Thanks

i am a gas fitter and have just done part p.
course cost £1200.plus.
test meter £495.
course books £99.

the course books espically the on site guide book, niceic inspection, testing and certification book and electrical installers guide to the building regulations book have all your answers.

i think you should get an electrician to do your work.ok do the lifting, preparing, tea making etc, sorry.

The part p regs are ludicrous. This is basic electrical work that any competent diy person can do with a bit of research. It's just a licence for people like you to print money for no good reason

Not true, more like a license for the NICEIC to print money...
