Am replacing existing oven & hob with Oven rated at 4.2kW and Hob rated at 6.6kW. Consumer unit is approx 20m from cooker unit. I think I need 10mm cable supply to cooker unit (and 45amp MCB), but would a 6mm cable suffice?
Grateful for some advise.
Thanks

jesus man, don't just guess. have you brought other factors into consideration?

Instalation Method?

is there a 13a socket on the cooker control unit?

Not just taking a guess! No 13amp socket with cooker unit. Current cooker unit on direct supply from CU via a 20A MCB (and 2.5mm cable). Understand I will have to change the supply cable size, just need to know whether to use 6mm or 10mm.

id put the new oven on the existing 2.5mm with a 20A breaker and run 6mm for the new hob with a 32A breaker.

Would prefer to keep it at one cable and one MCB rather than the 2 you suggest.

any reason why? is there no fre spaces? i would do as plug mentioned and have the on seperate MCB's. means that if there is a fault, only 1 will go off
