The instructions for fitting my new Bosch oven include:

'Do not connect the appliance using a 13A plug or protect it with a 13A fuse.'

Otherwise fuses are not mentioned.

Can this be right? How should this device be protected.

Anything to alleviate my confusion would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

At 230v that loading will draw almost 16Amps so you need to connect it according to that figure. Possibly a radial cct protected by a 16A mcb. It all depends on your current set up.Given that you are asking this question suggests that you are neither qualified nor competant to instal this oven so I would suggest you call someone who is.

Thank you for your comment. I'd done the calculation myself.

Actually, I'm trying to get a edge on the professionals (and minimize disruption to the kitchen). The one that arrived to fit the oven wouldn't because the professional who'd fitted the previous oven had wired it into the 30A radial. But I noticed that the second came with a standard three-pin plug in his hand. The Bosch instructions just add a twist.

Thanks again.
