We are going to be building a first floor extension over our existing single storey kitchen (are highlighted blue in image)

Currently our overhead telephone line cuts across this before joining the house (red line)

It also cuts across our neighbours who intend doing the same/similar extension.

Any idea what openreach may charge to relocate cable (preferably from
previous pole down (green line).

Would it make a difference if it was our neighbour asking the question (ie needing openreach to relocated someone else's (ours) cable)?

Thanks

Richard

You would have to ask Openreach for a price

Will do anyway, just thought they may take a while to get back to me or charge to even have a look - thought someone here might have a rough idea what it could be.

Why can't they attach it to the new first floor extension?

Andy

Because it would still be in the way of next doors first floor extension.

It looks like you could fix it to the corner of your extension without touching the neighbours.

About £90 + VAT if it's classed as "External Shift", or £90+VAT per hour for time-based work.
Moving to a different pole may not be possible if that pole's fully occupied, and the other pole may go back to a completely separate part of the local network.
Those are the wholesale rates - what they may charge you for external works as network alterations might be quite a bit more.
