Hi,

My relative was trying to remove a sticky tape from a wall and left a small, roughly 1"x1", damage on the wall:

It is not deep, look like only the surface (paint?) has been damaged.

What should I do to properly fix it? If it only needs a paint over, what type of paint do I need to use for it?

Thank you.

I think you'd need a bit of filler/easifill or similar, just to bring it out flush with the surrounding surface.
Then you can lightly sand it down flush, and then go over it with emulsion.
I'd also carefully trim away any flaky bits of loose paint around the edges of the patch, "before you fill and paint".

Did as you suggested - had to remove the flaky parts of the paint first, because the paint around one scratch started to bubble, then sanded it a bit around the edge of the scratch and touch painted (10x10 cms) with a roller brush. Looks great now. Thanks for your time guys.
