Paint 'sliding' off wall

Also looks like there has been a roof repair. And there is no soffit overhang.

Is there paint damage at high level as well as low level?

Doesn't appear to be as bad at high level. I've now also written to Sandtex to see what they say. It looks a right blimin' mess imho

You said the wall was in a mess before it was re-painted.

Had the old paint bubbled and blistered and started to peel as well?

No, not at all. It was more like uneven in the surface.
I suspect that what is happening is that the old paint would have soaked up the water and then it would evaporate again. Now, with him sealing the surface, "stabilising it" as he calls it, the water is going through the first, new layer, hitting the impermeable coat and then with nowhere to go, collecting in puddles.

Ok.

But are you certain there are no gaps around the window frames, and that bottom of the roof is sound?

Is your guttering overflowing? What is that stuff at the top of the guttering on the lefthand side?

I see the bubbling on your new paint is very close to nextdoor. Has any of nextdoor's paint, particularly nearest your house, bubbled up?

How wet was the surface, and what was the weather like, when your painter did this work?

So, update:
I've spoken to Sandtex customer services. They basically called me an idiot, in not so many words, in attempting to approach any outside decorating at this time of year. They have categorically stated to leave everything until late April at least. Then, scrape off any loose, treat and repaint.

Oh, well. At least we know where we're at, if not sorted at the mo. Let's hope the painter doesn't do a runner between now and then.
