A nice thick layer of Hammerite - smooth or otherwise but the deck underside needs to be perfectly clean and dry.
Personally I use the brushing stuff for a thick layer that isn't so easy to abrade away.
John :)

But bear in mind that Hammerite isn't what it used to be. Hammerite these days is no better really than ordinary oil based paints it can be removed using turps. In the old days Hammerite needed it's own thinners as turps did not work with it. The EU foisted that ridiculous xylene ban on us.

Are there anygood ??

Fred, thanks for the Hammerite info - I wasn’t aware of the formula changes.
Pidgeon, any treatment is better than none, but the harder the paint surface the better as it resists abrasion and ideally needs to be smooth. By all means give the stonechip a try!
