painting a concrete path

I have just had a concrete garden path laid and wanted to give it a bit of colour
I painted it with concrete floor paint but after about 2 weeks it has started to come off
Should i have undercoated it first perhaps ?

What should i do now ?

It's usually best to acid etch new concrete before painting to remove any laitance which prevents paint from sticking.[/list]
