Hi all, I'd appreciate some advice please.
I have an early-1980s silver aluminium door in my kitchen. It was originally an external door but is now an internal one. I'm currently redoing the kitchen and, as the door is still in very good condition, replacing it isn't really in the budget.
The problem is that the silver aluminium sticks out like a sore thumb! I'd love to paint it, ideally in the same colour as the walls. The top half of the door is glazed.
Am I right in thinking I'll need a specialist primer for aluminium before painting? If so, could anyone recommend the correct primer and paint system to use? I'd like a durable finish and was hoping to use an eggshell paint if possible.
Many thanks

Loads of primers you could use.
Special spray cans if you want to spray it.

Easiest would be a 320 grade sand. You need to clean surface and easiest way is to wipe with meths
Then Zinsser Bulls Eye 1-2-3.
Allow a couple of days to cure then your eggshell
