Painting bathroom ceiling

You have to coat the ceiling with alkali resisting primer before applying oil based paints to bare plaster.
Mist coat is the way to go for a diyer as OB in the wrong hands could look awful
 
ok, so if i go for the acrylic paint I should apply mist coat followed by acrylic primer? Or there is no really need for a primer as mist coat serves the same purpose?
 
Mist coat followed by two full coats of your required finish. Mist coat is the primer
