What is the best way to prepare and paint new moisture-proof plasterboard on the bathroom ceiling?

surely the answer is skim it, then paint with 50/50 water/emulsion before painting?

After taking it down to get to any otherwise inaccessible parts of the electrical installation for inspection and testing, then replacing it, and also after filling in any holes cut in it for lights.

Interesting question - because bathrooms tend to have lots of moisture?? Does it perhaps mean 'mould-resistant'??

NHBC view is.....
Use moisture resistant
plasterboard in areas where the
wall is likely to be subjected to
repeated or persistent wetting.

One way is to use an Undercoat first on the plasterboard, then TWO coats of GLOSS paint on the ceiling - Bathrooms tend to be damp places, and the Gloss paint holds up to moisture better than emulsion etc.
