Need to varnish (clear) a newly installed hardwood (sapele?) balustrade (spindles and handrail). I am overwhelmed with information What's the best way to do it.
What to use to prime?
What to use to Varnish: oil (which one?); lasutect (?); just a clear varnish would do as well?
Use rubber or brush?
How many coats?
And shall I seal it at the end and with what?
I am inclined to KISS and use a brush, a plain vanilla clear paint and apply two/three coats on it. But since material and installation costed me a fortune I wonder whethere there are better options....
