Painting lead flashing

Hi all - I want to paint some old lead flashing in balck - I have some black weathershield but wonder if this is ok - somesay gloss?

Do I need an undercoat?

Mr Somesay is right..I would rugh it a little with some fine wire wool (use it wet so you dont get any lead dust from it) then a couple of coats of gloss..it copes better because it more flexible.
