Painting on plastered walls & ceilings

Hi.

We've had the lounge plastered and it's now dry ready for painting. I'm looking at putting on Dulux Vinyl Matt Brilliant White on both walls and ceilings.

Should I put this paint straight onto the walls and ceilings, or put a coat underneath - if so what?

A B&Q budget basic white watery paint?
A basecoat?
Any suggestions?

Do a search before you paint on 'mist coat', there are so many posts on here about painting new plaster.

You will need to water down & apply the mist coat

Should I not just buy a cheap watery paint to use as the "mist coat"?
