I would think the use of a barrier coat would be needed..maybe a coat of zinseer or the like...to be honest the only time its happened to me was on plaster cornice..now, im good but im not that good that I can line cornice..

..so we gave it an undercoat first

so youv not had a problem on walls then from silk to matt. p.s, im on msn now.
