Painting the ceiling of the shower cubicle

The paint's peeling off the shower room ceiling after only a few months

What's the secret to stop it happening again? Specialist bathroom paint?

Do you have a fan such as electric fan humidistat?

yes, but i must admit we tend to leave it turned off at the isolator switch.(Reason being it's very noisy - are ther makes more quiet than others?)

I appreciate that action doesn't help with keeping the paint on the ceiling!

Normally they are quiet, yours maybe knackered.

that bathroom paint will help quite a lot we had terrible problems with flaking paint after we fitted a shower. we painted with bathroom paint and leave the small fanlight window permenantly open about 3" with the stay screwed down for security and haven't had any problems for the last year or so.

In my shower cubicle I use a white upvc sheet on the ceiling, best thing I ever done, also got a fan as well.

Thanks for your replies. Think i'll look into replacing the extractor fan, which sounds like it's simply worn out, and then repaint.

So, to be clear as to what i should do - remove the flaking paint back to the plaster, seal the plaster (two coats) and then two coats of emulsion? Would it help if i then sealed the paint (i use diluted evo)?

Failing that it's specialist paint or the plastic sheet which sounds like a good idea.
