Id like to attempt to paint the front of my house (windows, fascias etc) as I have some free time in my hands soon.

Some of the existing paint on the wooden window frames is peeling and looking shabby. Would I be doing it correctly if I do the following...

1) Scrape/burn off the flaking gloss back to bare timber.
2) Prime, sand down to smooth finish, undercoat and then gloss

Will the bare wood really need priming, or can I just undercoat and then gloss?

yep allways use a primer ,preferably oil based on exterior timber , just give it a light sand after priming as this will raise the grain but be carefull not to rub too much off , then undercoat and gloss with a light de nib between coats
