Panasonic breadmaker

This machine (out of warranty) has started making horrible scraping noises when kneading. The paddle shaft in the bucket moves freely as does the drive. The odd thing is that there is no obvious sign of scraping anywhere so I can only assume the noise is coming from underneath. I've tried taking the bottom off but don't have a tool that will remove the screws in the centre of the front and back edges of the base plate. These look like Torx screws but have a projecting piece in the centre which prevents a torx driver from going in.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
