Hi,
I'm looking to improve the sound proofing between two bedrooms. I have started to remove the plasterboard on one side and have discovered that it is paramount partition boarding (the cardboard grid filling).
I'm intending to build a stud wall with 400mm spacing between studs, though I did read somewhere that it should be 600mm between bedrooms? I can obviously do either.
I can remove the cardboard easy enough from the room wall that I have exposed, which would leave the plasterboard in tact on the other side. I think I would then use adhesive on the stud frame and screw in to the studs from both bedroom walls (the old paramount plasterboard and the new plasterboard).
Does that sound like a reasonable plan? I'd prefer to leave the other wall in tact if possible, due to cost, and the new wall won't be plastered straight away as it will be covered by Naturewall slat panelling.
Thank you in advance
