I'm about to lay a load of reclaimed pitch pine parquet on new floor slabs (and dried for several months), i've scraped the bitumen off the back using a heat gun, but I need to decide on an adhesive. I realise that because of the bitumen residue I need to use something that's either bitumen based, or able to deal with the existing bitumen.

I've looked into F Ball, Lecol, Sika adhesives and they all seem to do dipping adhesives which are bitumen based, but I'd prefer to use something I can trowel on and lay the blocks onto that. While the slabs are poured and screaded nice and flat, i'll like that little bit of tolerance that trowelled adhesives seem to be able to give.

Can anyone offer advice on a suitable trowellable adhesive which will be okay with the bitumen residue?

Instead of heat, to remove a bit more from the bitumen, place the blocks in a freezer and then chisel the bitumen off.

Then use Basicoll PU-650SE to bond it to your floor

Thanks woodyoulike. To clarify - theres essentially no bitumen left on the bottom, its just bitumen staining.
