hi,

not sure if anyone can advise relating to
http://www.diynot.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=118664#118664

i have used the hg parquet cleaner product to clean my parquet floor (it was a bit dirty!) now that its clean what should i do now?
have read up to use a polish but what is best a water based or poly type? personally i ain't got a clue what the diff is!!

my current floor isn't varnished, should i use a liquid Wood floor polish seal and finish? if so what brand/product is best?

hope someone can help as i don;t know much about this type of thing

many thanks

simon

Hi Simon

If your floor hasn't got a varnish/lacquer finish, does it have an oiled or waxed finish (whihc I think is the case). After the proper cleaning you've done, apply a waxpolish or hard wax as maintenance. If it has been a long time ago since you have applied any maintenance product it could be needed to apply a maintenance oil (is not the same as HardWaxOil were you refer to).
