Part J regs for hearths on Concrete floors - CONFUSED...!

Hi there.

I'm installing a woodburning stove in my sitting room.

Its a ground floor, concrete floored room, built circa 1875.

So the regs state that a concrete floor means that the entire floor is classed as your "Constructional Hearth". Then the "superimposed Hearth" would be my slate or granite raised slab etc.

The total thickness for the 2 should be no less than 125mm.

How do I know how deep my concrete is so I can order a suitable Hearth slab...? If an inspector came to pass it off I doubt he is going to take a core sample to check so will he just prsume its a certain size...?

Any help apprechiated...!
