Hi guys can you tell me what this means on my constrution spec. In orderto comply with the revisions to part L of the building Regs 2no bedrooms are to be fitted with lamp holders that are only suitable for use with lamps with a luminous efficiency greater than 40 lumens per circuit-watt.Are they saying i need to use low watt lamps or do i need a speical lamp holder? any help would be great.I cant get in touch with the sparky doing the work so cant ask him at the moment and i need to get the parts for him soon could any one send me a link or picture to one aswell please many thanks.

Luminous efficacy is the relationship between the amount of light you get compared to the power that goes in.

High lumens-per-watt fittings are typically fluorescent lights. What you need is a light designed only to accept such lamps. For example, the 2D lights - search and you'll find loads of suppliers.

When I started my Installation course in 1988, the course tutor kept calling me Trevor. If you don't already know, my name's Simon....
