Hi,
I have a Vaillant Boiler (not sure which model) and I need the part number for the bit at the end of the flue that prevents birds from entering the flue.

The Villant part number for the whole horizontal flue assembly is 303933 but I only need the end bit!

Many thanks
Jeff

It's probably not available as a seperate part, have you tried vaillant technical? I think their number is 0330 123 1130. If it's just birds you're worried about, just fit a terminal guard. The flue should be as the manufacturer intended really but a flue guard will do until you can get an RGI to replace the flue assembly.

(not sure which model)

and yet we are supposed to provide a part number?

Me liking a challenge though I'm gonna say you have a turbomax(the one with the grey front panel and green knobs), prob about 10yrs old. You'll need the complete flue and a qualified gas person to fit it.

All,

I have finally got the model number of the boiler it is a Thermocompact VU GB 282

Does that help anyone to identify the Flue end?

Thanks
Jeff

the flue end is missing? how and why? as this is the most crucial part of a boiler i would recommend you get a Competent RGI in to fix it
ring 01634 292300 (vaillant H/O) and ask for the details of an approved RGI in your area.

The end is not actually missing, the bit that stops birds entering (looks like a bulls eye fixed in three places) is damaged - one fixing has 'melted' away and a second is on its way.

This has happened before and the whole flue had to be replaced at the request of BG service engineer.

So before they come to perform the annual service and shut the system down as unsafe, I was hoping to replace the ends bit that has this small plastic 'bird' protector in it rather than the whole flue.

Hope this helps.

interesting!!
i would be concern as to why this is happening (might be a known fault that i haven't come across) as the flue is surely designed to withstand the boilers normal operating temps.
i would still recommend a call to Vaillant as a lot of engineers only know the boilers they see often so a vaillant guy would know the danger signs.

be safe ask for a vaillant trained engineer

Kevin,
Many thanks for the reply - what is the bit at the end actaully called? So that I know what to say to Vailant when I call them!

yes you have said that already!! do you make a habit of repeating yourself!!

the real issue here is
1. damaged flue
2. issue of overheating causing 1.
