Hi all,
Got some Oak architraves that I want to use my Paslode finish nailer to fix, it's an IM65A (the angled brad gun). I also want to join a few skirting mitres with them (screws and pellets to fix skirts though). I'm going to use stainless steel as seen problems in the past with the normal pins turning the oak black.
Anyone used the stainless nails, did they work with oak ok?
Just wondering whether to get 50mm or something a bit smaller like 38mm? 50mm would obviously give better hold but not sure if they will drive in without problems.
Any into would be appreciated.

I always thought steel was a no-no with oak??

Does the fact it is stainless make a difference?
I've lost count of the thousands of stainless nails , pins and screws I've put into oak. Standard practice on heritage jobs is to use stainless, A2 is the general grade used although I have used A4 on very rare occasions .
