Hi All,

I set out my downlight cables before plastering. All laid correctly with pictures and a measurement plan.

but...
after the ceiling was plastered we changed our mind on the positioning of the lights. I've located the feed and switch cable but now need to thread a new cable to the new holes for the spotlights.

problem: Cant get in loft as its too shallow and when I push cable (also tried a hep pipe) it bends against the insulation. The distance between each hole is around 1.25 metres.

any advice will be greatly received.

Yea was gonna suggest drilling out the holes for the lights, then using rods to push the cables through.

Bet I could get in your loft

If it's only lighting you may not need to upgrade the cables - if they pass through insulation.
You'll need to check the circuit loading and do your cable calculations again.

I marvel at some of the places I used to wriggle into.

Not happening now!!!

Perhaps I should have said "in my professional career"...

Hang on, that sounds like "confessions of a sparkie"...

When I went round to ladies houses, I used to wriggle into their holes.

Oh, dear. This is getting worse.

Customers used to pay me for wriggling around in their holes.

No, no, no...

I used to pride myself at getting into tight places.

That's not right either, is it?

Hold on...

When I was working, I used to be limber enough to...........oh FORGET IT!
