pastic gulley

Do I sit a new plastic gulley on a bed of concrete or just use sand and cement mortar and then pack it with sand and then backfill.Help.

whats it for? what gulley is it? where is it going?

It is a rainwater gully trap,It will sit at the bottom of a rainwater fall pipe ,it will be situated in a hole in the ground approx 400mm deep,when fixed it will be flush with existing block paving.

Put down a couple of block paving for supporting the gulley underneath then sharp sand backfill then finish off with block paving to it. May need to cement the side of the gulley to prevent block paving movement.
