Hello all,
We have an existing patio area which is fairly level still but the joins are full of earth and weeds, and so was hoping to take them up to clean them and then remove all the earth/weeds and re-lay to ideally save the cost on slabs and get at a least a 'fresher' look to the patio.
I've pulled a few random slabs up and is appears that they are sat on a thin later of sand (and mostly replaced by earth now!) which is sat on a hard surface (~40-50mm concrete/mortar ?). Is it sufficient to just lift the slabs to remove all the earth and old sand, and then re lay them on the hard surface - if so, what do I bed the slabs in; some sand again, or a mortar mix, or something else?
Any advice much appreciated.
I took this picture, but not sure is fully shows what's there so let me know if other views/angles would help.
