for people avoiding tax by living abroad and not giving back to the country they have abandoned what percentage off there earnings should they pay to have the moral right to all the services this country provides and morally call themselves British subjects

for people avoiding tax by living abroad and not giving back to the country to whom they have abbandoned what percentage off there earnings should the pay to have the right to all the services this country provides and call themselvs british subjects

If they're living abroad, then nothing.

sorry tried to add a nowt option couldnt
could the mods do it for me please

BA, you know what they say "you cant please everyone" at least you tried

its the thought that counts :D
or should that be the nowt that counts

I suppose it all depends whether they come back to use the NHS or not. Are they likely to claim old age pension when they reach 65? Or do they live and work abroad and pay tax in the country they live in?
What about F1 drivers who choose to live in Monaco etc? Will Lewis Hamilton (who lives in Switzerland) claim a state pension from the govt when he's 65? Or will he just live off the interest of his bank account?

jj

Hamilton is not a non-dom but a tax-exile

Non-dom being someone who spends significant amount of time (?) in GB but is not taxed on their world-wide income as is normal for GB residents.
Don't know what circumstances are necessary for this.

They used to pay something like a nominal (for them ) 30K/yr tax but before the elections there were proposals to increase this sum significantly. Unsure what has happened to those.

yes
or i would do if i wasnt semi retired

ok maybe i havent been to clear
its the moral point i am after
hamilton who knows no one in switzerland left with indecent haste after becoming famous
if he spent maybe 2 or 3 years here paying into the system that he was brought up on then move off he would at least have don his bit to chip in
now i am not picking on hamilton but just as an example
the trouble is when people leave with indecent haste its the people in the middle tax brackets that are left footing the bills not many off the people making the most as they have all the tax dodges worked out

BA,
I'm a bit surprised by your post as you're all for new comers that haven't chipped in getting all the benefits

you mis understand me then

i am after fairness and ballance
i dont always like the fact that people can get easy money when we work so hard to keep the system going
it does somtimes gaul me what people can get but thats the system so not there fault

i like ballance and honesty not biggoted misinformation
its easy to pick on the minority and blame them its seldom there fault or choice to be in that predicament
