Payment to 'Not Provided'

I've just received a warning from one of my banks, that a payment to 'Not Provided' of £0.01 has been blocked, followed by them approving the payment, then followed by a refund of the amount. Obviously a test payment, but what for? Who/what is 'Not Provided'?

Sorted! I closed 3x of my TSB accounts yesterday, and nominated any final interest payments to go to the above account. TSB must have done a test withdrawal of 1p, just to verify the account details were valid. The refund of the 1p, mentions it's from the TSB.
