The cost of one hospital under Labour.

Its not the concept of 'Privatisation' that should be slated, but those who agree the 'Contract' to pay out extortionate fees which are to blame.
Since the principle of privatisation is to put public money into private pockets, then why do you think a contract could ever be written that favours the general public?

Governments won't abandon PFI for one very very simple reason, it doesn't appear on the 'balance sheet'. Sweet.

A private contract can favour the general public if it delivers an efficient service and offers value for money. But too often the providers will see the government and local councils as 'cash cows'.

We have nothing to fear from services being contracted out to private business done correctly.

We have a lot to fear from Conservative privatisations......its flogging stuff off to their mates in exchange for a bit of dough.

But since the corporates have their paid lackeys in positions of power, then we are indeed 'cash cows'...

And I do wish people would stop talking about the government/councils having money, because they don't - it is OUR money!

Yes I agree.

The huge disadvantage of 5 year elections.......it allows parties to promise stuff which gets paid for in the future...... and the NHS is starting to suffer from PFI payments eating into the budget.

Tribal politics enables one side blame other, duping the public.

PFI should be ended with the current projects all refinanced and brought back into public hands.
