PD - Acceptable gap between two rear extensions

With the conveyancing culture that we have I don't think you can be too harsh on people wanting an ldc for peace of mind.

Loving this discussion though. Currently trying to decide how wide to make my slot. The last few threads had spooked me in to 1000mm wide but I think I'll drop it back to 700mm on the basis I have different depths and roof styles. I'm not bothering with an ldc though.

The original poster wrote about extension to kitchen and lounge.
Assuming the house at back is only the kitchen and lounge then one of the kitchen or lounge will be the wider and so will be wider then half the house.
I agree that this sort of stuff is a nightmare.
Perhaps the depth of these extensions are beyond their councils planning guidelines.

Well after 2 tortuous years I think we have now set a very clear precedent on this - see Appeal Ref: APP/Z1510/X/25/3358293 - or Braintree Planning dept : Lones Garden, Lones Hole Lane, Shalford, Braintree CM7 5JB

At last a very clear case that subjective comments on factual GDPO on what is a gap and what is joined - the Inspector was very clear that if there is a gap and it is not joined it is permitted development, he was also damming of the LPA. I asked for a response from their planning officer, enforcement officer and Chief planner, all I got was a "congratulations on winning the appeal", all matters now closed. At every stage I asked them to justify their comments, review, reconsider and engage, they did none of this.

I'm not sure it sets any precedent, AFAIK there are various appeals which have gone either way. So like it seems to depend on which side of the bed the planners get out of it also depends which side of the bed the planning inspector gets out.
