People Who Menstruate

make a clown out of yourself 24/7.
Yes, why DO you do it?

There are clearly different cases/categories to the issue. I don't have a general solution, except "stop making a problem where there isn't one". Sometimes, there is, though.
It's probably appropriate in all cases to have a degree of difficulty built in to whatever the system is, to resist people who in some way are trying to take advantage, or to rush at changing. That inevitably hurts some.

I know of (met her once through a friend) a 14 year old girl who wanted to be a boy. Clearly she's homosexual - rampantly so, she was all over her schoolmates and tried to encourage the female teachers who were gay. (You get a fair number of lesbian teachers in an all-girls school, it's seen as a less challenging environment than having to work with 'orrble blokes, but it has its own conflicts). The girl wanted gender reassignment immediately - with everyone telling her to hold on. She was/is exceptional, academically, and was persuaded to, well, stfu and get on with her education, which she did. Now apparently she's very happy as a woman and glad she didn't change.
I went to an all-boys school. One of my schoolmates did change. She's getting on with her life. We quizzed her at a reunion. Up until the adam's-apple surgery she got a load of hassles, but now you'd not see she's trans, life is much eaasier. Must say she's very likeable. She's tried a few relationships, but finds those all rather tiring and complicated. I can imagine it could be tough. A clear case of someone born the wrong gender for their sex.
A few were behaving gay back in school. One later told me (a bit drunk) he's about about 75% hetero, married (a woman) and it still bugs him. I wonder how many would actually claim to be 100%, unless a bit drunk.
Professionally I knew two female-born, trans men. Everyone seemed to find them pretty weird, with hang-ups about a lot of things. Whereas the openly but quietly gay fellows were very easy to work and socialise with - it was one of those industries like comedy panel shows, which had a disproportionate mix. The flamboyant gays always seemed to want to be a bloody pain, mincing about with their fingers cocked justs so, for some reason. Is there a word for such folk?

In sport it's just tough. Maleness gives advantages early on, so no, if you have that you may not compete with those without the advantage.

I like to think I'm a liberal minded person, live and let live etc. However the one thing I don't think I'll ever fully get to grips with, or agree with, is some of this stuff. I thought we lived in a democracy? It seems we 'do', however some who speak out against aspects of LGBTQ find themselves rallied against and often not in very constructive ways. Just the other day I read an article about a woman that had given years of faithful service to the girl guides. When she questioned their new policy that allowed trans men (transitioning to female but that still had a love rod) to sleep in the same quarters as young girls, she was thrown out the organisation. They've since backed down a bit and apologised however the woman is undecided if she'll ever re-join.

Yes we need to be careful not to believe everything we read or see online (the media loves to create tension etc) however if half the stuff is true, it beggars belief. 'Pregnant people' and all that GUFF. In trying to accommodate this minority, why do some quarters seem so hell bent on airbrushing out anything that's specifically male and female. This drive in some quarters to make everything vanilla. Blue for boys, pink for girls, how DARE you!!! Separate toilets for males and females, how DARE you!!! There aren't two genders, there are 1,000,000,000 genders. Hey, you want to start identifying as a Chinese woman even though you're evidently a Caucasian man? Cool, whatever makes you happy.

On this subject, I'm afraid my view is the world has gone mad.

My young niece is very intelligent, beyond her years actually. She loves reading, writing, adores school (no, really!) and is very creative. I don't doubt for one second if she wants to, she'll achieve great things in her life in whatever field she chooses.

She also LOVES the colour pink and girly things.

How DARE my sister allow her to enjoy such oppressive things!!! Doesn't she realise she's holding my niece back educationally and emotionally?!?

How my niece is already over-achieving with all this overtly female stuff going on in her life goodness only knows ...

Even if it's ALL true, it's nothing in the great scheme of things; and I don't agree the world has gone mad. Well not because of trans issues, anyway.

We have a saying in our house (I believe I coined it) covering mean-ness, tightness, nastiness nosiness etc; and in this case, intolerance and bigotry* and 'activism'.

"Do we want to be like them, or do we want to be like us?" Lets us refocus nicely, usually.

My first instinct is to bar anyone born male to sleep in the same quarters as girl guides.
But then my instincts are challenged if considering randy lesbians in the same situation.

I don’t care if some one is or wants to change there genda
Please them selves

it’s all the nonsense that go’s with it

Lunatics are taking over the asylum imo

Similar to what I posted just before you but my post contained measured language.

Sadly there are many nasty people around that hate, yes hate people that do not meet their bigoted/warped criteria.

For the sake of clarity this post is not aimed at you, T.

All minorities face a tough life and thankfully these days there are laws to stop hatred of people just because they may not be like you.

Live and let live as long as it is within the law and get on with your lives.

I (really) don't agree with you much about anything, but I do on this.

In this country, what white person, on reflection, would prefer to have been born: black, asian, trans, gay, Tory (sorry:D) or disabled (so they could be a paralympian)? Anyone?

I thought gay Tories were Liberals.

Sensible move. I can't say if I've agreed with you in the past or not as I don't recognise your forum name. Nevertheless, thank you and good to know
that there are other decent people around.

When I was younger, I was bad, but not nasty bad as saying stuff to people but having jokes between friends about x/y/z. Older and a lot wiser at 16, it was an eye opener, - I'd been brought up during the times when even our gov was anti some many groups but thankfully moved on

Live and let live as long as it is within the law of the land and your life will be a bit easier.

Must dash as we are going out to buy a few odds and ends and a snack - v sunny here.

ps - I have no time for politicians/religion as see little difference between the two at the extreme end but it is what it is and I ignore them as ignoring things is easy if one has the capacity.

I think, in terms of things that are touched on by trans rights, the world is going mad. One example, toilets. Although it's becoming increasingly un-pc to say so, many from birth females prefer going into toilets that are exclusively for other females. They can talk about woman stuff (is it still ok to say that?) moan about the male species etc. Similarly, many from birth males prefer going into toilets that are exclusively for other males. They can talk about man stuff (is it still ok to say that?) moan about the female species etc.

However, increasingly, there is a drive for toilets to be gender neutral. Whilst this seems fine on the surface, even more so given they'd be cubicle only, many don't feel comfortable with the idea. In one article a mum said she didn't like the idea of her 10 year old daughter going to the toilet e.g. in a restaurant, to be followed in by a grown man. Yes of course the man is very likely just going in to do his business, however it's not only to do with that. It's to do with how people feel.

The same with stories of 'females' that still have their man bits raping from birth females in prison. JK Rowling being ostracised for daring to have a non-pc opinion on the whole trans thing. 'Females' beating from birth females in sporting events, etc etc.

So I'd assert, in this area, the world is starting to go mad.

It is not the "world going mad" more a case of the England. I'm sure you don't get this in scotland/Wales/NI, well not to this extent. Reading the new re Wales, they seem to be be years behind us just like scotland and NI.

One that made me sigh was a local council (David Davies constituency) which proclaimed that in schools,

sanitary towel dispensers should be fitted in the boys' loos so they would all feel equal.
DD was against it, thank dog.
