you know when 3 phase comes into a factory does it go to a substation then get sub m ained out to Distribution Boards around the factory

If its a small supply, then its just like a SP supply except with 2 more wires and two more fuses  , if the supply is many hundreds of amps instead of just one hundred per phase then similar, except it'll be CT metering and it'll it'll go into a panelboard with fuses or MCCBs which will serve submains to 100A 3P boards around the place, if its huge, then the building might even take 11kv from the grid to a tranformer in the basement...

how rude

taking the ****...? ok whatever.

was seriously trying to be helpfull which you have just thrown back in my face.

you come on here asking basic questions giving the impression (to me anyway) that you are unsure of what you are doing and telling us that you have rewired your house, i was genuinly concerned.

the best advice i could offer was meant as some honest advice.

sorry for causing offence and maybe im a bit more cautious than most but iv seen what happens when people go poking about in 3 phase boards and get it wrong.

so if a High Load factory wants 3 phase where does it start at a substation

Industry Spark sorry about mate its just im studying electrics at school and wanted to no a bit more but i would never go to a 3 phase board and start messing around, sorry

well you are on the right road, but sparkys i know find their path in the electrical game and some never touch three phase. don't know how old you are but when you are working for a large electrical company ask if you can go on the larger jobs where you will be exposed to three phase, large armoured cables and glands this may put you off. but don't expect to get a feel for it here, when you are in a mucky trench in the rain making off a gland you will curse three phase, mark my words.

do you do three phase then m8 i do armoured swa at home for outdoor wiring is it hard with big wires in the rain

Adam what is in a substation do electricians go in substations

no, they are too big, and would get covered in mineral oil. a substation is a big oil-cooled transformer.

AND PLEASE STOP TYPING 3 POSTS AT ONCE!

apology excepted,

think all sparks will agree that even ones who have been doing it years and years are still learning and come across things that theyve never seen before.

i have a decent grasp on three phase as i work in industry so if you want to create another post asking some questions like johnd suggested then we'l do our best to answer them.

dont forget to number them.
